My vast experience working in science-based careers has given me knowledge I love to pass on while tutoring. That is why I love teaching the sciences, which includes Biology and Chemistry.I entered the field of science as an independent laboratory assistant, worked at several biotechnology companies, and after 16 years, I am now a senior manager in the field. Over the years, I have worked on creating vaccines to prevent disease, gene-based therapies, and have played a role in many other meaningful research projects. While anyone can teach the sciences from a textbook, my experience in the field helps me break down and explain material in a way that only an experienced research scientist can. I first focused my studies on Marine Biology and Biotechnology at Fairleigh Dickinson University in New Jersey. I then attended Cornell University, earning my Ph.D. in Toxicology, but also studying Pharmacology and Immunology. Many of the research projects I worked on while earning my Ph.D. were fascinating, with one centered on discovering changes in cells that can cause cancer. I love to stay active when not working, and my hobbies include scuba diving, working in my garden, preparing great meals, and reading science fiction. I also enjoy spending as much quality time with my family as I can.
